San Pancho Real Estate
In San Pancho, life is much less busy than in Sayulita. People who live in this lovely small town share an interest in promoting cultural activities, lead a healthy lifestyle, are active in their community, and are very eco-conscious. And even though San Pancho is also a world-renowned beach tourist destination, it attracts a different crowd than Sayulita, people looking for a peaceful place to spend a holiday break or live part-time, but at the same time maintain their lifestyle.
San Francisco, Nayarit (San Pancho, as it is most commonly known), is located only a 15-minute drive from Sayulita, on the Riviera Nayarit, next to a vast golden sand beach. Due to its size, the beach at San Pancho is never too crowded. Residents and visitors can enjoy a quiet and relaxed day at the beach; however, the ocean is not so calm and only suitable for the experienced swimmer as the tides tend to be high.
San Pancho is a very eclectic town, and so is the San Pancho real estate market consisting mainly of fabulous oceanfront homes for sale, hillside homes for sale, but also new developers are adding gated communities and condominiums for sale to the inventory. Prices are located in the low to medium price range.
San Pancho stands out for its artistic scene, hence the title of “cultural capital” of Nayarit. San Pancho hosts annual music and arts festivals; there are writers collectives in town, community centers, art galleries, and a circus school. But that doesn’t mean you won’t find ways to pamper yourself, quite the contrary actually, in San Pancho you can also find great restaurants, everything from tacos to organic food; stylish accommodations, from small boutique hotels to beautiful beachfront villas; small boutiques featuring the work of local artists, golf and polo, as well as yoga studios, pilates, surf, and paddleboard lessons.
San Pancho Interesting Facts:
- San Pancho is home to one of only two polo fields available in the region, La Patrona Polo and Equestrian Club. The second one is located in Careyes.
- Among the initiatives for the community available at San Pancho, Entreamigos stands out, an association that strives to provide the children and families of San Pancho education and skills needed to contribute to their community in a positive way.
- One of the most important cultural events in San Pancho is the International Art Festival, held every December at the Plaza del Sol, a favorite venue for artistic events. The International Art Festival is open to the public and free event that for many years has brought art to the streets of San Pancho.
- In 2008, San Pancho was named Cultural Capital of the State of Nayarit.
- There is a circus arts school for children in San Pancho! It is called Circo de los Niños de San Pancho and was founded by Cirque du Soleil’s former Creative Director.
- San Pancho was built as a Third World development model by former president of Mexico Luis Echeverria. For that reason, its infrastructure is solid and well thought out.
The first impression may be misleading, but the truth is there is a lot going on in San Pancho, from music festivals to circus shows, not to mention patron saint festivities and community projects you can participate in. As a short or long-term resident, you’ll never get bored, and you can be as involved in the community as you like.
